IAM 100% Convinced

ROM 8:38-39 NLT And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Are you 100% convinced?

What’s it going to take to hold onto the truth we read today. The Truth that we live out every day?

Nothing
Nothing is a very absolute word, it leaves no doubt for even a .0001% chance.
Death: Are you afraid of death, or afraid of losing someone?
Life: a new baby or relationship could derail our focus on God’s love?
Angels nor Demons:  Let’s be sure to worship the Holy Spirit, but not the spirit realm
Fears for today: when you woke up this morning, were you thinking about something heavy?
Worries for tomorrow:  Do you have a big due date or deadline coming up?
Powers of hell: No bondage to sin and the actions that come from it are greater than the Love of God!
Nothing in all creation!
I think it’s pretty darn clear, there is nothing, you can do, or someone else can do to separate us from the love of God.

death cannot separate

And that Love of God is revealed to us through a relationship with Jesus our Lord.

There is nothing that can be done to us, that can tear away our relationship with the Savior.

But are you convinced?

Some days, I am
And honestly, some moments of some days, fears creep in.
And I can spend more mental energy than it’s worth to worry about things.

That’s when I must come back to the truth and hold onto it like a life preserver in the open sea.

Today:  I want to encourage you and me to commit the truth to memory.
To let the words of truth be burned into our minds and spirit forever.
And when the drama of life pops up again. We can whip out the truth from our memory and get back into the safe embrace of God’s Love

God’s love is relentless, will you be also?  Let’s go there together

“Unstoppable Love”
(feat. Kim Walker-Smith)

Try to stop Your love, and You would wage a war
Try to take the very thing, You gave Your life for
And You would come running, tear down every wall
All the while shouting, “My love you’re worth it all!”

God, You pursue me, with power and glory
Unstoppable love that never ends
You’re unrelenting, with passion and mercy
Unstoppable love that never ends

You broke into the silence, and sang a song of hope
A melody resounding, in the deep of my soul
You have come running, You tore down every wall
All the while shouting, “My love you’re worth it all!”

God, You pursue me, with power and glory
Unstoppable love that never ends
You’re unrelenting, with passion and mercy
Unstoppable love that never ends

No sin, no shame, no past, no pain
Can separate me from Your love
No height, no depth, no fear, no death
Can separate me from Your love

God, You pursue me, with power and glory
Unstoppable love that never ends
You’re unrelenting, with passion and mercy
Unstoppable love that never ends

IAM Passionate

Passion is a great word, but I think people have an idea of what it is, but rarely experienced true passion in their lives. Maybe little blips in excitement, or just a phase of their life when they were younger.  Maybe some people believe passion is for kids, but when you grow up, life is about being practical

People have large and extravagant weddings. They seem like the perfect couple , only to get divorced a short time later. And their reasons? “I fell out of love?”

How many times is passion squashed out because of a road block or obstacle?
What was described as a minor setback in the beginning is the excuse or reason for why something was never finished? I been there too.

Let’s take a look at the example of passion that Jesus lived out for us:

Hebrews 12:2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

“Passion is the degree of difficulty we’re willing to go to achieve the goal.”

Jesus had passion for us.
Knowing how hard the middle part was going to be, but he still chose the cross, because of the joy awaiting him.

I don’t see too much about touch feely emotions when we think about this definition of passion.
I see a decision, a choice, a determination.

I think about those WWJD bracelets: What would Jesus do?
He is our champion, the one who has started our faith
And also the one who perfects our faith.

Passion should lead to emotion, but emotion alone isn’t enough to help you make it through.
But Faith to know the outcome is going to be perfect according to God’s beautiful will.
That Faith is what bring emotion to choose the right thing.

So if the pattern of you life has been jumping from thing to thing, and a history of unfinished projects, make a choice today. Even if your heart has been hurt by a past life of unfulfilled dreams.
Make a choice to be a finisher
Ask Jesus to help you find true passion.
Ask God to fill you with visions and dreams

Hebrews 10: 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

The God who has promised us great things is a consistent God.
He can be trusted to keep his promises.

All we need to do is hold on tightly without wavering to the HOPE we affirm.

The hope we have testified to.
That hope is a guideline.
Imagine walking over a rope bridge.

Most-Dangerous-Bridges-In-The-World-Rope-Bridge (1)

Imagine walking over this bridge blindfolded, except for the assurances from God.  Uhh yeah!  someone pack my depends undergarments?
1. It’s going to be ok
2. the ropes and cables won’t snap
3. just keep walking and hold on

I am pretty sure every step and handhold, I would be praying to God.
God! Help me!

It’s my personal prayer that I could adopt this way of thinking and conversation with God. To prayerfully consider everything. To be in the Spirit in every moment of my life.

And once I cross this bridge. Do I do it alone?
No! Thankfully the word tells us that there are others He wants us to cross the bridge daily with.

Hebrews 10:25 ESV not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

You know habits form in the brain , psyche and will.
It takes over 21 days to form a habit.
and over 66 days to lock it in for good.
Habits can form in negative ways as well as positive life giving ways.

The ESV uses the word Habit, and I think it’s perfect.
Do we look forward to, and cherish the fellowship of believers?
Does it strengthen and refresh us?
If it doesn’t maybe we should look at who we are fellowshipping with the most?

I know that when I spend time with my church, life group, wife, kids, I look forward to it.
But in the times that I feel like I want to avoid my true friends, its probably because I am hiding something, guilty, and I want to avoid times of conviction and growth.

Let us motivate one another to acts of Love and Good works. How?
Through prayer, through encouragement.
Not through isolation.
But with meeting with each other
And in increasing frequency as we see the day approaching.
Let’s proclaim the truth of who you are today:
I AM Unwavering
I AM Holding tight to God’s Promises
I AM to Stir up my Brothers and Sisters
I AM a Habitual Encourager
I AM a Habitual Fellowshipper
