IAM An Earthen Vessel

2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Friends, I don’t want anyone to put themselves down, and think that they are worthless. All of our worth comes from the light and great treasure that we have the wonderful privilege of having inside of us. Other translations of the verse say, we are earthen vessels. The stuff inside of us, is many times more valuable than the container itself.  True humility isn’t walking around saying, I am nothing, I am worthless.  True humility is living in God’s truth of who you are.  Living in proper understanding of how God see’s you and your is the place where we want to be.

Earthen vessels are clay jars that are fragile. God chooses us to fill with his light. That light is the greatest power in the world. The light of Christ is the only power and force that can save the heart of a man. The love of God that pours into us, is the only true love that can break through even the hardest of hearts.

Every jar is meant to hold something, then be poured out when the time comes. We aren’t meant to store up and never be shared with the world.

God has formed you with his hands. God has a special purpose for your life. Your unique personality, passion and skills were formed into you for a God’s plan. Then he has placed you in the kiln to cure you. I want to encourage some of you, that if you feel like God has turned up the heat in your life, ask God to give you patience to endure the process. The fire, heat and pressure of life is what is completing you. When you are tempted to ask, “Why me?”, try and ask God “For what purpose are you pressure treating me?”

It’s now your time to respond to God and say, use me, pour me out wherever you see fit. The treasure that God has placed inside of you, isn’t just for your benefit, it’s to be shared with the world. And just as the women broke the alabaster jar and anointed Jesus, we will be broken and poured out to do beautiful ministry for God’s Glory.

IAM a God Imitator

EPH 5:1-2 NLT Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

I can tell you as a father of two wonderful amazing girls in their childhood, there have been distinct moments when I have observed them do something really amazing.  The thoughts that went through my mind was : “That’s my girls!  Yes! I am their Daddy!  Yes those little mini-me’s right there, those are my children!”  Their actions were a pleasing aroma to me and my wife.  And even more to God.  Yes, I have the wonderful privilege of raising my girls until they are adults, and I hope I can model Godly things for them everyday.

God does that in the heavens everyday when he sees you.  Do you know that?  Can you hear it?

Today, the word is encouraging us to the imitators of God.  Imitation not in a bad, knock off, poor copy sort of way, but a very very close representation of the true and living God.  Be imitators in everything we do.   Everything, leaves no room for a sliver of weakness.  When we play the part, and start living it out, it becomes very very difficult to compartmentalize my old life, and my new life.  I want to encourage you:  Go all in!  Don’t reserve 1% of your life, and say:”God, I trust you for 99% but I gotta keep this 1% for myself”  God wants it all, and he demands everything.  As your heart desires to be more like God, just say, Ok God, I trust you the good father, with everything in my life.  Buckle up, because it’s a wonderful ride!

Walking-in-Your-Destiny

We imitate God, because it is his DNA that he has given to us.  We imitate God, because it is our new nature to live a life filled with love.  Ask God to fill you with love every morning.  Ask God to help you to be more and more like Jesus in all that you do.  Jesus came to this earth to serve and sacrfice his life for us.  Jesus loved and lived sacrifically.  That’s our perfect example for true wonderful aroma filled living.

There is nothing you can do or say that can take away your identity that God has placed on you.
It doesn’t matter if you were born into this world with awesome parents, or rotten parents, your DNA is the DNA of the Creator.
Their life and destiny is not your life and destiny.
God is a loving father that has an amazing unique plan for your life.
Remember the truth:  I am God’s dear child, He loved me and gave himself to purchase my life.
