IAM Calm

EXODUS 14:13-14 NLT But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

Imagine facing the biggest challenge you have ever faced in your life. Now, run this conversation over in your mind. God speaking to you. “Yo Bro/Sis! Sit back. Watch me work. I will fight for you. Keep Calm”

BAM. God does his thing and destroys the Egyptians. You sit back and watch it. Replay over and over again for every situation that happens in your life.

IAM a Do-er

JAMES 1:22-25 NLT But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

I hope that in your daily life, you are taking the time to read the word of God. I also hope that everyday, you are being inspired by the living word. The word of God speaks to us to encourage, comfort, challenge, inspire , correct and motivate us. That is what a healthy life in the word should be. The next step is almost as important: We must do what he word says.

I know that it happens to me on almost a daily basis. God speaks to me, now it is up to me to act. It’s very clear to me to be obedient to the direction and conviction from the Holy Spirit. One thing I have learned about being a do-er. I must act quickly, and just do it. The more I take time to rationalize or contemplate, the more time I waste. Then sometimes the conviction fizzles out. I lose opportunities to live out my calling.

i-dont-even-know-how-i-am-anymore

Ever look in the mirror and forget what your awesome face looks like? That’s how foolish it would be. Imagine yourself looking in the mirror and saying “I don’t know who you are anymore!” Maybe you have strayed away from your true identity.

Look carefully into God’s Word. Take some time in it. The word of God is our mirror of truth. We are checking into it to see if there are any blemishes and areas for improvement right? Each morning, gaze into the truth and ask God to speak to you. The word of God is the perfect law that sets you free. How do laws set you free? They give us the guidelines to live in freedom of our life calling. Laws can restrict our actions, but other laws can also give us more power. The law of Love is powerful and amazing. I know that if I truly love someone, unconditionally, their heart will change. There are no exceptions; it’s as powerful as gravity. As you take the time to meditate and study the word, more and more of God’s amazing laws will give you guidance on how to be amazing in your life calling.

Friends, let’s be amazing people who read and love the word. Then let’s be powerful people who also carry it out. Let’s get the point where we are physically uncomfortable until we are obedient to it. Have fun in carrying it out. Expect great adventures as God leads into amazing opportunities. Let’s just make sure we do. If the plan of action that God inspires you with starts of as a bit crazy, then start to act. If your thoughts gravitate to the practical, rational and realistic, rebuke those feelings and just do it!

It’s time to live in freedom and passion in your God given calling!

IAM Powerful

EPHESIANS 1:19-20 NLT I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

The greatest power in the world is to raise someone from the dead. It’s scientifically impossible in the rational world, but totally possible for our God. The ability to live forever and prevent aging is an eternal quest that companies are investing billions of dollars everyday. All of those companies are looking in the wrong place.

Today’s prayer for you: To understand the incredible greatness of God’s power that is inside of us when we believe in God. God is the beginning and the end when it comes to possibilities. The same mighty power that brought Jesus back from the dead, is available and inside of us. And only one thing matters. Do you believe?

When I think about certain friends and business associates, some of them are my “I Have a guy” guys. They knew everyone important, they have all the worldly knowledge in their heads and they know someone who is politically powerful enough to help out in situations of need. God, is our “I have a really connected all powerful Guy”. Not some cosmic vending machine we go to for our selfish desires, but the all powerful creator and father.

When we go to God in prayer and ask him to help change the hearts of men or heal the sick, we are going to him first because we know he is the only one powerful enough to do it. God is the source of all of any power we live in.

Friend: I want to encourage you to take some time to meditate on the incredible greatness of our God. Think about the fact that with the spoken word God created the heavens and the earth. Just let your mind wash over the amazing things that hang in the balance everyday. Every time that I get into any prayer time, I spend the first part of my prayer time just thinking about God’s greatness. I get my heart in the right place to make sure, that I know who I am having a conversation with. Then I have supreme faith that nothing is impossible for God.

PSA 18:29 NLT In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.

Only in God’s strength, I am victorous.
Only through the power of God, can I crush ANY army
With My God, I can scale any wall.

What walls? What armies can stand against us now?

None!

There are so many ways the world thinks is the way to overcome.

But the only way is through the counter cultural way of Jesus.
Truly loving people more than yourself.

PSA 18:33 NLT He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.
Imagine being surefooted like a deer.  Like a rugged animal that can climb any mountain, and go to the top of heights and peaks.

Only Jesus will allow us to do that.

And not just to sustain you to barely survive.  But to crush ANY ARMY! No Wall is too high! No mountain too rocky or tough to get to the heights.

IAM Passionate

Passion is a great word, but I think people have an idea of what it is, but rarely experienced true passion in their lives.

Maybe little blips in excitement, or just a phase of their life when they were younger.

People have large and extravagant weddings. They seem like the perfect couple , only to get divorced a short time later. And their reasons? “I fell out of love?”

How many times is passion squashed out because of a road block or obstacle?
What was described as a minor setback in the beginning is the excuse or reason for why something was never finished?
I been there too.

Let’s take a look at the example of passion that Jesus lived out for us:

Hebrews 12:2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
“Passion is the degree of difficulty we’re willing to go to achieve the goal.”

Jesus had passion for us.
Knowing how hard the middle part was going to be, but he still chose the cross, because of the joy awaiting him.

I don’t see too much about touch feely emotions when we think about this definition of passion.
I see a decision, a choice, a determination.

I think about those WWJD bracelets: What would Jesus do?
He is our champion, the one who has started our faith
And also the one who perfects our faith.

Passion should lead to emotion, but emotion alone isn’t enough to help you make it through.
But Faith to know the outcome is going to be perfect according to God’s beautiful will.
That Faith is what bring emotion to choose the right thing.

So if the pattern of you life has been jumping from thing to thing, and a history of unfinished projects, make a choice today. Even if your heart has been hurt by a past life of unfulfilled dreams.
Make a choice to be a finisher
Ask Jesus to help you find true passion.
Ask God to fill you with visions and dreams. Ask God to rekindle the dreams that are inside of you from your youth

IAM A Believer

What does it take for you to buy in?

How many miracles would it take?
Would miracles start to become old hat to you?

If you took the time to just read Matthew 8, count how many times Jesus healed, and worked in mighty power.

If I spent a weekend with Jesus, and from Friday to Sunday this was the amount of ministry he did. Then I would never question the power of God.

The man with leprosy asked Jesus: If you are willing. Say what?
The leper already knew God had the power, but the question was in Jesus’ willingness.

instaquote-23-11-2013-16-30-25

1. Jesus IS WILLING TO HEAL YOU. But you have to ask.
2. Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth
The Roman officer understood authority.
Are we subject to this world?
Or is this world subject to the will of our God?
Verse 10 is great. The Son of God. was amazed!

Have the type of faith that speaks to the heavens, OK?
Wow, youngblood is bringing some serious prayers right now
OK, my Son, you aren’t playing around.
If God wants to impose his mighty will on the worst, angriest, grumpiest, flaming liberal atheist. HE CAN AND HE WILL.

3. Jesus came to heal us. He heals us to empower us to do his will.
It’s not just so we can leave the church healed to move on with our lives. Jesus heals , to add us to his army of warriors.

4. Jesus has authority over nature. I wish NJ had san diego weather. I have witnessed a bad 5 day forecast before our trunk or treat event or egg hunt. And by Saturday or the day of the event. It’s BEAUTIFUL. Ok Hurricane sandy aside in 2012. Even the winds and waves obey him. Thats the kind of power our God has.

5. Even the demons know who Jesus is. The demons BEGGED for permission from Jesus. Who begs for things? Someone who is clearly in a subordinate position to the most high God. I think sometimes we give too much power to the demons and sins that are controlling us. IN the Name of Jesus, take authority over them.

Proclaim the Truth Today! (say it out loud into the mirror or computer monitor!)
I AM a believer
GOD IS WILLING TO HEAL ME
I Have the authority of Christ over situations
I AM HEALED FOR A PURPOSE
GOD IS ALL POWERFUL
I AM more powerful than demons.

I AM, GOD IS.

God Speaks, I Do
God control, the world submits.
God’s will, all powerful.

IAM Unwavering

Hebrews 10: 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

The God who has promised us great things is a consistent God.
He can be trusted to keep his promises.

All we need to do is hold on tightly without wavering to the HOPE we affirm.

The hope we have testified to.
That hope is a guideline.
Imagine walking over a rope bridge.

Most-Dangerous-Bridges-In-The-World-Rope-Bridge (1)

Imagine walking over this bridge blindfolded, except for the assurances from God.  Uhh yeah!  someone pack my depends undergarments?
1. It’s going to be ok
2. the ropes and cables won’t snap
3. just keep walking and hold on

I am pretty sure every step and handhold, I would be praying to God.
God! Help me!

It’s my personal prayer that I could adopt this way of thinking and conversation with God. To prayerfully consider everything. To be in the Spirit in every moment of my life.

And once I cross this bridge. Do I do it alone?
No! Thankfully the word tells us that there are others He wants us to cross the bridge daily with.

Hebrews 10:25 ESV not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

You know habits form in the brain , psyche and will.
It takes over 21 days to form a habit.
and over 66 days to lock it in for good.
Habits can form in negative ways as well as positive life giving ways.

The ESV uses the word Habit, and I think it’s perfect.
Do we look forward to, and cherish the fellowship of believers?
Does it strengthen and refresh us?
If it doesn’t maybe we should look at who we are fellowshipping with the most?

I know that when I spend time with my church, life group, wife, kids, I look forward to it.
But in the times that I feel like I want to avoid my true friends, its probably because I am hiding something, guilty, and I want to avoid times of conviction and growth.

Let us motivate one another to acts of Love and Good works. How?
Through prayer, through encouragement.
Not through isolation.
But with meeting with each other
And in increasing frequency as we see the day approaching.
Let’s proclaim the truth of who you are today:
I AM Unwavering
I AM Holding tight to God’s Promises
I AM to Stir up my Brothers and Sisters
I AM a Habitual Encourager
I AM a Habitual Fellowshipper

Do You See What I See?

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

In the past, I would see a loser. I would see a failure.

But I have started to make serious changes in my life.

I discovered the power in the Great I AM.

God has spoken clearly to me.

Through his Holy Spirit, his wonderful word (The Bible)

Sammy:  You are my Child.  You are my Creation.

I made you for a special purpose.

You are not some cog in the system, just chugging along living a cruel joke until it’s your time to die.

That’s NOT LIFE! That’s not a Life that I want!

I have made so many mistakes, that I think my scars and self hatred, made it so hard to see my true reflection in the mirror.

I just found this simple youtube video.  Brad Austin, thank you for your contribution to the world.

Friend, I see you.

I hope you can see the beauty in your reflection

God made you. He made you to Love.

If you are reading these words: “I Love you” too.

I AM GODS MIRACLE!

Stop staying I am not lovable

I am not strong enough. I am not smart enough. I can’t do that

I didn’t go to college. I hate myself

Those are all Lies. Lies that cut off your power to Live in Victory!

Start Saying What you are.

Create change, with the simple words: “I AM…”

It all starts today

IAM Weak

2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now, I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

At first, it doesn’t sound powerful to admit that we are weak.  It may even sound a bit negative, but there are times in life when brute force hard work it’s going to cut it.

There are going to be times when the counter cultural approach of taking a step back, and admitting that there is nothing we can do, except fall on God’s grace is the most powerful solution.

There are many powers in this world, but there is only one Power of Christ.  I know in order to accomplish and see all the things that I truly desire in this life, the only chance I have is through the power of Jesus.  The way Jesus loved, healed, and spent time with people is the world’s greatest power.

It’s not about perfect skills learned in school or training class.

My close friend John says to me constantly “The greatest miracle is the changing of someone’s soul and the transformation of their mind.”   And I believe it.  I have zero power to do that on my own.

1011931_10151662535684679_1471079955_n-560x360

So I can boast gladly about this one face:  In my own power, I am nothing.  I am an amateur among amateur.  With Jesus, I am nothing.

That’s the time when I lift my hands surrender and say, God, I need your grace to take over my weakness.  Then I am ready to let the power of Christ work through me.

The way of the world is to puff up our chest, and act like everything is ok.

The way of Jesus is to start off the day by saying: Jesus!  Your grace is sufficient for me.

I am Nothing without Jesus!  IAM powerless without God.

At first it doesn’t make sense, to run towards the things we are least confident in. Run towards the situations that will make us look weak!

But that’s where the true victory is!

IAM Forgiven MUCH

LUKE 7:47-50 NLT “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”  Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.” The men at the table said among themselves, “Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?” And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

I am not perfect by any means.  Far far far from it.  The joy and love that I feel when I think about the horrible things I have done and said, that have been forgiven is amazing.  I know that I have been forgiven much.  Because of that knowledge, I can only love others and my God with much love as well.

We have an opportunity to come to the savior, and fall on our knees and say, “God, I can’t do this on my own.   My own willpower is not enough!  Please forgive me, and give me strength to love you and honor you!”

God willingly forgives us and loves us.  I believe we also need to forgive ourselves.  Yes, there is a battle going on inside your heart and mind everyday.  We have won the victory already through Jesus, but we need to embrace that truth and power daily.

I want to encourage you to respond in love to God because of the amazing forgiveness we receive.  Also to respond in power because of your Faith in God has saved you.  Power & Love: both important for you daily victory!

I love what Jesus says to the woman: Go in peace.

Peace is having zero turmoil.  Zero unrest, zero doubts!

True peace is knowing, where you stand in Love.
